THE MOMENT.

In 1921, the Greenwood District of Tulsa, Oklahoma — known as Black Wall Street — stood as one of the most prosperous Black communities in the United States. Built by entrepreneurs, professionals, and families, it represented economic independence and collective progress in the face of systemic barriers.

That prosperity was violently disrupted over the course of two days, leaving much of the district destroyed and thousands displaced.

This piece reflects that moment: an archival photograph from the aftermath, framed in understated typography. Minimal. Historic. Quietly powerful.

Designed with a gallery-style layout and printed in high resolution for crisp detail, this tee brings together archival history and modern restraint. It serves as a record of a community, a loss, and a moment that continues to shape the present.

Part of THE MOMENT. collection — a series dedicated to powerful moments that changed the world.
